Commit to a Code of Ethics!

How Chris Kuban developed our Ethics…

The values of a PR firm are usually based on the values and principles of its owner.  The highest standards of ethics in the Public Relations field are those outlined in the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Code of Ethics. When a firm embraces the values of both internal and external ethics statements, you can be guaranteed that the highest standard of excellence will be upheld when working with clients.  All of us at Chemistry Multimedia adhere to this code.

Eagle ScoutIn going further, and as the owner of Chemistry Multimedia, I believe my professional values, principles of conduct and commitment to clients is rooted much deeper than my professional code of ethics statement. I can easily point to it being something I learned as a young adult and the values I learned early on in Boy Scouts with the rank of Eagle Scout.

The values learned by the Scout Law was to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.  The motto learned in the scouts was “Be Prepared.”  I think my decision-making process and pursuit of excellence was set from an early age.

Just a few years after obtaining Eagle Scout, I fell in love with Public Relations.  In getting wholeheartedly involved in the presidential election of 1992, I ran visibility campaigns, voter registration drives and youth initiatives that helped change the tide of Missouri elections.  I gained Secret Service clearance, met many celebrities and was given the position as Missouri staff photographer for the presidential election which allowed me access to the front lines of the local, statewide and national political scene.

With a communications degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and then a further masters degree in media relations with an emphasis in public relations from Webster University, I have always continued to strive to improve professionally.  When establishing Chemistry Multimedia, LLC in 2009, I wanted my firm to stand tall above others, while focusing on integrity, values and credibility.  I strongly believe this is how I’ve been able to grow the agency based upon referrals.

My commitment to high professional values, a strong pledge to principles of conduct and a commitment to clients is why we’ve been able to earn the respect and continued projects for actor Gary Sinise and his Gary Sinise Foundation.

Our vow to our current and future clients is that we will always maintain an extremely high standard in our industry.  With that said, between our own moral compass, and with the guidance of the PRSA’s Code of Ethics, we will continue to uphold the highest principles in our industry.
